Kingdom of the Dead The zombie apocalypse like you’ve never seen it before. The plague destroyed nine-tenths of the population, and the dead refuse to rot. The survivors learn that each and every one of them carries a death sentence the virus circulating in their very bloodstreams. Just how far will one scientist go – how many people’s lives will he destroy in his quest to save the human race? The fates of several worlds hang in the balance.

It had only been a week after the twins’ thirteenth birthday party when the whole world had gone to complete shit. At first, both Mortimer and Daniel had thought that witnessing the dead coming back to life and eating folks was probably the most awesome thing ever to happen in their lives. Seeing all those zombies killing people on the nightly news was far better than anything that their video games could have come up with.
Their excitement took a serious blow when the news hit the Internet that a select few were turning without getting bitten. The fear became more profound when these select few began growing daily. When the outbreak reached their hometown, their terror increased exponentially.
Will the twins and their older brother, Martin, survive? Will they learn the truth about the infection that decimated the world’s population, and their role in saving the human race?

“Every single one of those things is a chemical disaster. As long as the zombies still shuffle about, their bodies stay together. It’s only when the things are truly dead when the fun and games begin. Their flesh is nothing more than a foul concoction of highly toxic and corrosive chemicals.” Tony looked at his wife. “How on earth do you dispose of countless millions of corpses that refuse to rot?”
Tony must battle to find the answers before time runs out for all of them.
***
Even after four long, miserable years, Kenny’s mind and body wouldn’t allow him to forget his impossible resurrection. Of all the millions of souls the plague of death had taken, Kenny believed that only he had risen with his humanity hanging by a thread.
Right now, his thread had frayed to the point of snapping. If he didn’t get his injection, Kenny’s joints would stiffen and the cold would grip his body, and this time the sickness would not release him. He’d be dead for sure this time. After that, there would be no stopping that urge to bite into sweet human meat.
Join Kenny and his sister, Diane, as they attempt to navigate - the Kingdoms of the Dead.

Ian Woodhead has done it again with Kingdoms of the Dead Book one: Chemical Rot (yeah, I know it’s a mouthful.) Ian Woodhead has written so much about the zombie apocalypse one would think “How could he come up with another story line regarding zombies?” but he has and it’s so original. In Book One of this new series we are introduced to quite a cast of characters. There’s Kenny and his sister Diane, Kenny had been infected and Diane has been helping him stave off the infection with bootleg pills. Then we have twins Mortimer and Daniel, along with brother Martin, they are being held as guinea pigs by Joseph the scientist under the guise of being kept safe from zombies. Tony is another character along with government worker wife trying to make sense of the world. Of course I can’t forget to mention Rossini host of the reality show Celebrity Slaughter, where people are pitted against zombies in a battle for their life.
After their world became infected unbeknownst to the general public the government began working on a way to find a new world to inhabit. Instead they found the same world different plane and then a third, respectively called Food World and Source World. Each of these worlds is inhabited by the same characters with slight variations with only a few key players aware of their other selves. This may all sound a bit confusing but it really isn’t. Ian is able to keep the story flowing quite smoothly.
Eventually Food World realizes that the plagued world is hopping over to get food and in turn infecting them so they begin tainting the food, causing people on the plagued world to change without being bitten. As things begin to unravel, we have Joseph vs. Joseph vs. Joseph, sick Tony fighting his healthy self, and the twins? don’t even get me started on them. This is such a crazy read you won’t be able to put it down. This is such an imaginative tale; I can’t wait to see what’s to happen in Book Two.

Kingdoms of the Dead Chemical Rot eBook Ian Woodhead Monique Happy Reviews
Good concept but story fell a bit short... sort of all over the place. I wouldn't say not to read it....
I really couldn't get into the story until I was deep into the book. I wouldn't not read it, just maybe spend a little more time getting to know it.
If you're looking for something both terrifying and different this is the book you want. A new kind of horror is unleashed on a small town. I couldn't put it down!
I have absolutely no idea what I've just read. It's like a convoluted Dr Who episode. 3 worlds with each world having the same characters. They all jump back and forth from world to world and I had no idea what character was on what world. Maybe I'll try to read it again. It's not a bad concept just poorly told.
I love the mix of Sci-Fi and zombies. There are a lot of characters so you have to pay attention, but if you do pay attention you will love how Mr. Woodhead sets up each characters arc. It was a little slow to start, but went fast once you get into the story.
Ian Woodhead has done it AGAIN! This is one of the best Zombie genre I have read. With every book Ian writes I I think it is the best one , and to my surprise..WOW! Kingdom of the Dead is better yet! I really enjoyed the mix of science fiction and horror which makes this book original. It is fast paced with plenty of non stop Zombie action. It is filled with blood, guts, and gore ..which of course is why I enjoy Zombie genre. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend. Ian Woodhead..hats off to you! You are a genius of the Zombie World.
British Horror Author Ian Woodhead is Brilliant! In Kingdom's of The Dead Mr. Woodhead takes us on a Mind Bending Journey mixing a Zombie Apocalypse, Gaming, Reality TV, Alternate Universes and a TON of action! What would you do if you found out YOU were the key to saving the world? Then you find out that its not even YOUR world? Would you have what it takes to to survive in a world where Zombies think and the dreaded disease can be slowed down with a shot? Would you have the mental strength to see yourself in a different world? What if you were dead? You can't tell whats real or staged for The Upper Echelon's enjoyment.. Who IS running this show? This book is a fast paced , OMG where is this headed next? Story. If you Like Zombies and Action then you NEED to find Ian Woodhead and give his stories a try! I Promise you won't be disappointed. I give this Book 5 alternate planets.. Loved it!!
